I’m absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news that Former Assemblymember Mark Stone, Former First District Supervisor John Leopold, and education leaders in the county just endorsed me for Santa Cruz County First District Supervisor at our endorsement event!
The event was a resounding success! We saw a packed room with more than 100 people show up cheering in support of a change for First District Supervisor.
I am so grateful that the evening was filled with joy, excitement, unity, and a strong sense of community support for our shared vision. We were honored to have key community figures join us and share their thoughts on why I’m the right person for the job:
"Lani brings a deep commitment to the community, a proven track record of getting things done, and a vision for a brighter future." — Former Assemblymember Mark Stone.
“The First District needs a Supervisor who will work hard for the community. There is no better advocate than Lani Faulkner. Her energy and commitment to addressing the critical issues facing our district — like affordable housing, climate change and public transit — make her the ideal choice for Supervisor.” — Former First District Supervisor John Leopold.
"Lani shows up for her neighbors. She shows up authentically in a way that brings people together. She wants to invest in families, which are the heart of schools. Lani will be a prideful champion for community schools to thrive here in Live Oak." — Live Oak School District Trustee Marlize Velasco.
The energy and enthusiasm in the room was palpable, reflecting the strong desire for positive change in Santa Cruz County. I am so grateful for your ongoing support, which has played a pivotal role in making this event such a success.
Throughout this campaign my goal has been to bring my experience working with people of all types and backgrounds to serve our community. My experience working with lots of red tape, including working with the CDC and FDA, means I know how to bring people together to find solutions. My neighbors and the First District community has been load and clear that we need stronger leadership to tackle building more affordable housing, bring Santa Cruz County into a better state of emergency preparedness and ensuring common sense environmental and transportation policy are prioritized. I'm not only the most qualified and experience candidate running, I'm ready to work with you to make it happen.
“If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.”
Thank you for standing with me and believing in our shared ability to make Santa Cruz County an even better place to live, work, and thrive.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Candidate for Santa Cruz County First District Supervisor
